I decided to take CISSP exam on Oct 25 this year. I haven't booked the exam yet but that's my hard deadline. I started referring to so many resources and I'm still confused actually.. but as of now these are my study resources and plans..
Study resources:
- Started Andrew Ramdayal course on Udemy as Domain 1 is all about
Think like a manager mindsetand his presentations itself act as study guide - atlease this is what he claims in his course. - DestCert Concise Guide to read - I researched a lot and understood not to be fooled by the word
concisein the book title, it's one of the good books to read for CISSP. It's crisp and clear. So, I got this book but I can't afford the DestCert course - it's very costly for me. - I'm currently doing practice questions parallely with studying - DestCert has free question bank app on Playstore/Appstore so that fow now and I'm thinking to purchase LearnZ app subscription as it's recommended app by $ISC^2$
Study plan:
I have hardly 2 months to take this exam and no time to waste so, I was thinking like - watch Andrew's course and there are like 1000 pages in the DestCert textbook, so, 50pages/day side by side everyday and do practice questions - while in cab, during lunch time, before bed, etc.. Also, Andrew claims that about 800 good quality questions before exams would be sufficient BUT EMPHASIS ON Good Quality Questions
Wish me luck and please feel free to write me, email me, etc.. by any methods mentioned here
What a Rabbit Hole of Blogs Did to My Whiteboard
One blog led to another and I ended up with a whiteboard full of ideas. Here is what is coming to this space - screen time shares, fitness, books, podcasts and more.
Back in the office today after the medical leave and long WFH. Everyone was checking in - how are you, how's the collarbone, how's the shoulder. The care here is real and I genuinely appreciate that.
First time signing up for the office cab too. I usually get this claustrophobic, nauseous feeling in cars but this morning was different - early start, fresh air, nice breeze, less traffic, smooth ride. None of that awful feeling showed up. Actually felt good. Starts around 7am to office, and I need to be out by 4:30pm.
However, I got late coming back. I wanted to meet my managers, so I stayed, but it didn't quite go as expected. Hopefully I'll catch up with them sometime this week. I want to talk to them later about my goals going forward.

I went to the Spider-Man movie today Brand new day. Good movie, I think it's okay - I didn't love it, but I liked it.
I think this is the first Spider-Man movie that I feel was a little dark. Compared to the other Spider-Man movies, this was "different".
I'm still processing it, but as of now, I think that it was an okay movie for Spider-Man.. I would like to see the "Friendly neighbourhood Spider Man" kinda story more.
Back to work today after a long medical leave. WFH for now, then slowly easing back into the office starting next week.
Honestly? The office is good for me. My job revolves around people and something that drags on for 30 minutes on a Teams call wraps up in 5-10 minutes face to face. Less time talking, more time doing. More impact.
Also a good distraction from the injury if I am being honest.
Funny what sitting still forces you to do - Think. And somewhere in that downtime, I started connecting dots I hadn't connected before. Hard to explain but I feel like I am standing in a place now where I can actually influence both people and technology in a meaningful way.
Here's to the new chapter. Cheers! 🥂

It's been a while since I've read a book. So I picked up "True Believer" by Nicholas Sparks. I've liked the movies based on his books, so I thought, why not try one of the books too. I got this one in a second-hand book sale, going cheap at half price. The main reason I picked this book is that it's a love story, but part of it is also a ghost story. I want to see how he weaves the two together. I'm excited for it.
Video Journaling - The Accidental Hobby My Shoulder Gave Me
Recovering from a broken shoulder, I can't write or type - so I started recording my thoughts instead.
Recovering from an accident
It's been a while since I've written anything here. I am recovering from an accident, and for the last couple of months, the pain was aggravating. Before it became any worse, I decided to rest and take some time off screens.
To give myself some mental breathing room, I've muted my notifications for a bit. Please don't take a slow reply as radio silence or rudeness because I'm just stepping away to recharge. I will respond to everyone once I'm fully recovered.
K8s Log #1 - Setting Up a Local Cluster and Surviving the Confusion
K8s Log starts here. Not a tutorial - just raw notes from someone who spent a week with Kubernetes, set up a local cluster and wrote things down before the confusion faded. Control planes, etcd, kubectl, Kind - equal parts exciting and overwhelming. Here is what actually stuck.
AI as a Sidekick and Devs Need to Stay in the Driver's Seat
As AI tools become a bigger part of software development, control matters more than ever. Here is my opinion on where AI fits and where it does not.
I was exploring resources to understand Kubernetes. As I'm fairly new to the K8s jargons n all, I wanted something explained in simple terms, like ELI5 style (I'm a visual learner) and I stumbled into this cool illustration by @cncf.io - exactly what I was looking for: https://www.cncf.io/phippy/the-childrens-illustrated-guide-to-kubernetes/ and few more here: https://www.cncf.io/phippy/ these illustrations made my learning K8s easier and more engaging! #cncf #Learning #Kubernetes
I've been meaning to get into Kubernetes properly for a while now. I came across all the tools and all the flavours, like K3s, minikube, K0s, and Talos Linux, etc. Ended up picking Kind tool as my starting point. There were a lot of parameters which I considered and finally arrived to this tool to begin my journey. The goal eventually is a production-grade setup where I can host actual applications. Overkill for what I need personally and a monolith would be far simpler but that is not the point. I want to understand Kubernetes deeply and this aligns with where I am taking my career so it makes sense to keep it complicated on purpose. I was also thinking of setting it up on a thin client like Dell Wyse, HP T628 or Raspberry Pi, but I have parked that idea for time-being. I am sticking with what I have right now and will be setting it up in my personal laptop itself using the Kind tool. Maybe later, once I'm more familiar and well versed in Kubernetes, I can plan on having a server setup.
Taming Messy RSS Feeds with n8n and a Bit of Vibecoding
I was tired of messy RSS alerts and notifications overload, so I built a sleek, custom feed companion in n8n
Day well spent! It was my B'day yesterday.. family n all together. I plan on writing a small post today (it's midnight, so after waking up) capturing some small moments. See you soon with a new post! 🥳
Working on a bot to publish notes without opening the text editor in the browser. Testing different methods but this one is via webhooks.. if you see this, then it worked! Yay! 🤓
Well, it has been a long time I chilled.. was obsessed on this blog and everything for the last few days. So I thought, why not chill a little bit today? It's time to relax, so watching the movie Blue Beetle on Netflix. It's time for #Netflix #Chill
