CISSP Study Notes - Domain 1 - Day 1

CISSP Notes - ISC² & Organizational Code of Ethics

Mnemonics & Tricks:

  1. PAPA (PAct-HHJLR, PD)
  2. 4C - Conflict, Confidential, Compliance and Conduct (Walking in a company with 4 doors)

ISC² Code of Ethics:

1000107312

Visual Shortcut:
A father (Papa) standing in front of his house, holding a shield (Protect), shaking someone's hand firmly (Act honorably), handing groceries to his kids (Provide), and pointing proudly at a framed diploma on the wall (Advance the profession). One mental snapshot, four canons, correct order — because that's literally the order your eyes would scan the scene left to right.

Organisational Code of Ethics:

1000107313

Visual Shortcut:
Imagine yourself entering a large office building with a glowing sign: "COMPANY CODE"
Inside, walk through four rooms in this exact order:
1. Conflict — crossed coins
At the entrance, you see two hands reaching for the same bag of money, with a red “X” over them.
Meaning: Avoid conflicts of interest and self-dealing.
2. Confidentiality — locked vault
Next, you see a huge locked vault containing customer data and secret documents.
Meaning: Protect sensitive information.
3. Compliance — law checklist
In the third room, a security professional checks a list while a large legal stamp says "COMPLIANT."
Meaning: Follow laws, regulations, and company policies.
4. Conduct — respectful handshake
In the final room, coworkers are shaking hands respectfully beneath a sign saying “Respect Everyone.”
Meaning: Behave professionally; avoid harassment and discrimination.
