Privacy

Short version: this site is intentionally simple and it tries very hard not to know too much about you.

I do not run ads, trackers, profiling scripts or creepy marketing machinery on this website. I am not interested in building a dossier on visitors and this site is not designed for that kind of nonsense.

What this site may collect

Like most websites, the server may log basic technical information when you visit. That can include things like your IP address, browser details, device type, referring page and the time of the request.

This information is used for boring operational reasons such as keeping the site running, handling abuse, troubleshooting problems and understanding whether something is broken. It is not used to identify you as a person, follow you around the internet or sell anything to anyone.

Cookies and tracking

As far as possible, this site avoids unnecessary cookies and tracking. If that changes because of a feature I actually need, this page will be updated to say so clearly.

Emails and messages

If you contact me by email, Signal, Mastodon or any other channel linked from this site, I will obviously see whatever information you choose to send. That may include your name, email address, social handle and the contents of your message.

I will only use that information to read, reply and continue the conversation if needed. I am not building a mailing list from private messages and I am not handing your details to third parties just because you said hello.

In other words, once you click away from here, you should assume their privacy policy applies.

Data retention

I prefer to keep things minimal. If any logs, emails or messages exist, they are kept only as long as they are useful for security, maintenance or continuing a conversation.
